From my personal experience, it’s much better to handle all the technical setups before you start publishing content on social media. In the past, I used to skip this step, jumping straight into posting and figuring things out along the way. Over time, I learned that it’s smarter to get everything ready in advance.
Here are five key technical settings you should configure beforehand:
- Set up default tags for the videos you’ll publish on your YouTube channel.
- Create a pre-written default description for your videos.
- Ensure the Facebook+Instagram integration is working seamlessly, with cross-posting enabled—preferably through Meta Business Suite.
- Enable and customize Instagram’s professional dashboard for your account.
- On Facebook, adjust your publication settings to be visible to EVERYONE, not just followers, friends, or selected groups.
Of course, there are many more things you can optimize, but if these five are properly set up and tested, managing your SMM efforts will become significantly easier. 🙂
