I lived here for five whole years, so I’m speaking from personal experience, okay?
Of course, you can bring back far more than just 5 souvenir gifts from Cyprus, but I’ve limited myself to five, four of which are food items. My modest list doesn’t include local wines, as I haven’t been drinking for several years, so I can’t recommend them to others. Also, I won’t be suggesting any fish or meat products for a similar reason.
So, what to bring from Cyprus as a gift
- Halloumi cheese.
- Kefalotyri cheese (see photo above).
- Olives (or olive oil). Those incredible, wonderful, delightful Mediterranean olives!
- A silver item or lace from the village of Lefkara. You can also find silver items in the village of Omodos.
- Local coffee.
Yes, this time it’s brief and to the point! As a bonus, you can consider bringing home a base for Trahanas soup. But first, try the soup itself and only then buy the ingredients! It might not be to your taste otherwise…)
