What to Buy in Cyprus – 5 Souvenir Gifts from the Island of Aphrodite

What to Buy in Cyprus

I lived here for five whole years, so I’m speaking from personal experience, okay?

Of course, you can bring back far more than just 5 souvenir gifts from Cyprus, but I’ve limited myself to five, four of which are food items. My modest list doesn’t include local wines, as I haven’t been drinking for several years, so I can’t recommend them to others. Also, I won’t be suggesting any fish or meat products for a similar reason.

What to Buy in Cyprus
Kefalotyri Cheese. You don’t necessarily have to pick this exact pack; there are many varieties to choose from. But please don’t go for the cheap ones.

So, what to bring from Cyprus as a gift

  1. Halloumi cheese.
  2. Kefalotyri cheese (see photo above).
  3. Olives (or olive oil). Those incredible, wonderful, delightful Mediterranean olives!
  4. A silver item or lace from the village of Lefkara. You can also find silver items in the village of Omodos.
  5. Local coffee.

Yes, this time it’s brief and to the point! As a bonus, you can consider bringing home a base for Trahanas soup. But first, try the soup itself and only then buy the ingredients! It might not be to your taste otherwise…)
